Ski Touring in Silvretta
Silvretta!
Have you ever heard of the mountain range of Silvretta?
No, no, don’t get me wrong! Silvretta isn’t a brand making ski touring bindings. Well, yes it is but …
Silvretta is a mountain range shared between Tirol, Vorarlberg (Austria) and Graubünden (Switzerland).
Silvretta has many glaciers and a lot of its summits reach well above 3.000 meter of altitude.
The highest summit of the Silvretta range is Piz Linard 3.411m, but the most known is Piz Buin 3.312m.
Here we go again … Piz Buin is a summit in Silvretta, not a brand of cosmetics.
Okay, okay, of course it is a brand of cosmetics too … but the name was inspired from that beautiful summit.
What’s next …
Hold on, here comes the third one.
Did you know that Silvretta is also having a “Haute Route”?
Well, it might not be that famous as the classic “haute route” from Chamonix to Zermatt, but I guarantee that Silvretta will leave you speechless with its beauty and skiing potential.
For Silvretta’s “haute route” you will need a week time in order to ski the complete traverse.
Nikos itinerary will take you to some of the highest peaks and also get you to ski the most beautiful lines.
Did I mention the mountain huts on Silvretta?
Once you visit those huts, it will be necessary to redefine the border line between refuge and hotel.
If you wonder, why you haven’t been ski touring on Silvretta yet…I can not really help you! I should just mention that I am at your disposal to guide you through your first ski tour on Silvretta.
